a great weekend

We've just had a beautiful, hot weekend (up to 27 I think), with lots of good times too :)

Friday Val and Ivor came up, we did a bit of shopping, had a lovely meal, drank a bit of wine, and did some planning for our holiday (just less than 6 weeks now - North Devon). Hopefully it'll be a lot like this weekend - wall to wall sunshine, walking, chilling, good food, good wine.

Saturday Jane and Graham joined us, and in the evening we had a fab BBQ - our first this year.

We decided that we were going to make the effort to meet up after George's death - family was so important to him, and he and Audrey were the hub of the family and ofter the reason why we got together. We realised that it would be all too easy to let it slip, so we are making the effort not to. We had a great day in Southampton earlier in the year, saturday, and we are planning a day at Henley, for the regatta. The ultimate Brombley family celebration - George and Audrey went for the whole week, every year, for many many years, and almost the whole family are going this time, for the day, and its almost the anniversary so it seems timely.

And today is another glorious day, before it starts cooling down to much more normal temperatures, but I just have 4 more days of work before a week's holiday - good times.

PJ's exams start this week (physics thursday pm) and he is 18 on friday - how did that happen???
